The unplanned expat blogger behind Cravel Linox

Hi there, I am Sophie
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expatriate living in Paris, France.
A couple of years back, I moved here with my family. What started as a short-term assignment gradually turned into a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France wasn't part of the long-range plan. Like many international moves for work, it began as a chance opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The opening months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and fresh expectations. Daily tasks felt blurrier than they should have.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of trial-and-error learning. Yet gradually, routines settled in. We found places that worked for us, met other families, and began building something that felt stable.
Why I Built Cravel Linox
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface tourist material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in France.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in France continues, and the learning journey goes on as well. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Sophie
